A Quick Look at Our Professional Upholstery Cleaning Equipment
When it comes to keeping your upholstery looking its best, the right tools and techniques make all the difference – which is why at Couplet & Barnes, we pride ourselves on using advanced, specialised methods and equipment to restore your furniture to its original splendour.
From high-performance machines to good old elbow grease, here’s a snapshot of how we make sure your upholstery receives the best clean possible:
Hot Water Extraction Machine
This machine is different to our carpet cleaning machine. We use a Prochem Galaxy for your sofas, this machine has a much lower PSI and is perfect for restoring residential and commercial furniture at a safe pressure. With a built-in heat exchange and powerful twin vacuum motors, it’s still as powerful as larger professional carpet cleaning machines.
Upholstery Drill Brush
Unique for cleaning upholstery and ideal for scrubbing in solutions and the removal of spots and stains, this design allows the inner brushes to rotate whilst outer brushes are stationary - allowing protection from splash back and debris (suitable only for synthetic upholstered furniture).
Hand Brushes
Sofa piping, trim, tassels and natural materials will be agitated by hand.
VLM Hand Tool
Our Rotovac ShearDry hand tool is revolutionary in the specialist cleaning market. It provides effortless cleaning to spots and stains, avoiding over wetting, over spraying and utilises minimal water to leave fabrics virtually dry. With an in closed straight vacuum bar, PSI gauge and clear design, we see dirt being removed as it happens. Oh boy it’s satisfying.
Dri Pod
We encourage evaporation quickly and remove surface moisture with the Dri-Pod, pulling dry air from above and directing it down through a louvred grill in a 360° pattern across your upholstery - leaving it dry in next to no time!
Chemical Solutions
We only use top of the range, environmentally friendly, pet safe, tested certified, directly from our trusted reputable specialist supplier Njord Chemicals.
Common Areas Sofas Attract Dirt
Couplet & Barnes are here to inform you that dirt happens, and it happens across your whole sofa - however there are hot spot areas where soiling happens faster.
Arm Rests: Arms of sofas, arm chairs and furniture get dirty quickly. Known as contact areas, arms are where you rest items and use for designated purposes, leaving them to pick up oils, skin cells and greases.
Head Rests: Another contact area, head grease, hair products and sweat all transfer on to the head rest of your sofa, appearing in brownish grease like circular patterns. In front of upholstery: The spot in-front of your favourite seat is notorious for visual soiling.
Leg Rests: There’s a pattern emerging, another contact area! Leg rests attract indigo dye from denim jeans, fats and oils from bare legs and pet oils from the dog rubbing against it.
